Volunteer Information

Volunteer Information:

Volunteers are encouraged at Earhart School.  All teachers have different needs for volunteers – help in the classroom, with science and/or media center or help with homework collecting/preparation and/or fieldtrips just to name a few.  Please be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher if you are interested in helping.

All adults wishing to volunteer must go through the volunteer process.  Please select the level of volunteer clearance you will need based on your anticipated involvement.

  • Level 1:  Classroom and other on-campus school volunteers in the presence of teacher/principal:  This is the most basic level and includes the completion of the volunteer form (on a yearly basis), a current ID and current TB test (done within the past 4 years).  This level of clearance will allow you to act as a volunteer in the classrooms, support campus activities.  This level of clearance takes 48 hours.

  • Level 2:  Supervising Children without staff present:  This level of clearance will allow parents to request to chaperone on field trips throughout the year.  It will be the teacher’s discretion on whether or not you are selected/needed for any field trip.  This level includes everything in Level 1 and requires you to be fingerprinted which includes a criminal background check through the FBI and Department of Justice.  This must be done at one of several local approved Live Scan Locations.  (This is an additional cost to you.)  This level of clearance can take up to approximately 30 days.

  • Level 3:  Field Trip Drivers:  This level of clearance is the same Level 2 but in addition you must complete and submit a Transportation of Students in Privately Owned Vehicles (E-5) AUSD form.  All drivers must maintain the following insurance:  Bodily Injury Liability $100,000/$300,000, Property Damage Liability $25,000, Medical Payments $5,000 and Uninsured Motorist $100,000/$300,000.  You will need to submit (1) Proof of Insurance “declaration” form provided by your automobile insurance company that indicates expiration date, type and amount of coverage of insurance and (2) driver’s license.    This level of clearance can take up to an additional 10 days.
